Two Arrested After Drugs, Gun Found in Syracuse
Investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol have arrested two people during a narcotics investigation in Syracuse.
At approximately 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, NSP investigators performed a search warrant at a residence in Syracuse as part of an ongoing investigation. At the residence, in the 600 block of 5th Street, investigators located 186 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 536 grams of suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun. Investigators also located additional methamphetamine while making contact with two individuals who had just exited the residence.
The two individuals, Kellie Bassinger, 30, and Brian Werner, 41, both of Syracuse, were lodged in Otoe County Jail for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of money during a drug violation, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
The investigation remains ongoing. NSP was assisted by the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office.
